Being a "Westerner", I walked out of the casino area into a very confusing and challenging experience. My visit was on 11/16/2007.

First, it was very obvious to me that the counter was for non-Asians and the tables were for the Asian regulars. The hostess guided me to the counter. I insisted on sitting at a table. I got a waitress that spoke NO English. I pointed to what I wanted. She wrote the order and prices in Chinese, so I had no idea what the final tally would be.

As I sat there, at least three ladies approached me with rolling carts full of appetizers. They spoke no English, so I could not simply ask what each plate was. One sat a bowl of chicken feet before me and I had to wave it back.

Once my kung pao chicken came out, I was impressed. My soup was good. It was very good. BUT I sat there and observed the other tables getting several courses. I got tea, soup, and then my main meal. The cook even came out to answer the complaints of one lady. He picked up the food she did not like, threw it out, after a few moments, personally brought back a whole new plate, and sat himself down to conversation, while she ate. I doubt if he knew her personally because their waitress presented her to him.

My waitress ignored me. I could barely get her attention to get the check and get out of this discomfort.

I felt out of place. Here I am, in the middle of Las Vegas, in a casino full of people from all around the world, all different nationalities, and I walked into a restaurant for an authentic meal and I felt like I was not welcomed. When guest wonders whether they are welcomed or not, they also wonder about the quality and safety of the food presented to them. These people did not care if I ever returned. I probably will not return.
